Disclaimer:

Due to recent Coronavirus (COVID-19) attacks across the world, there have been several inquiries on how to create face covers. This Cloth Face Cover is not meant to replace surgical masks or N95 respirators, rather it is a contingency plan for those who have no access to other masks in the market. Proper use of a surgical mask or N95 respirator is still the best way to prevent transmission of viral infection. If you use this face cover, the supplier, designer, creator, distributor or gifter of this face cover will not be held liable for any related health issues. Use at your own risk with your discretion. The best efforts were provided to help keep you safe in this unprecedented time. Cloth Face Coverings are designed to help stop the wearer from passing on the virus to others. The Cloth Face Covering(s) provided are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators.  Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by current CDC guidance. Surgical gloves were used on a sanitized surface to package and ship your face cover.

About Face Covering

Washable face coverings for essential workers and New Yorkers who need to pickup essential supplies. We have a limited supply of face covers, made by local seamstresses and tailors. Purchase two masks and we will provide a month of free property maintenance services for a qualified home owner (of yours or our choice) who is a medical professional.

With worldwide demand for facemasks during this Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many people will have to make do with what some scientists have called “the last resort”: the Do It Yourself (DIY) mask. However, homemade face covers are not legally considered Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), since their capability to protect Health Care Professionals (HCP) is unknown. Caution should be exercised when using this option (when no other option is available). Homemade face covers should ideally cover the entire front (that extends to the chin or below) and sides of the face.

Data shows that Cloth Face Coverings are effective at capturing viruses. We are in a worse-case scenario, even in these times we want the maximum protection. We have chosen to use dish towel fabric based on the following data and material availability:

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the use of a Cloth Face Covering helps slow the spread of COVID-19. The CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.
